RIDLEY Noah Fast 3.0 Ultegra Di2

The Ridley Noah is an icon in the cycling world. Legends such as Robbie McEwen, André Greipel, and Caleb Ewan have won bunch sprints in the Tour de France on this speed machine, synonymous with pure aerodynamics and velocity. In 2025, aerodynamics is everything! Ridley’s aero engineers started from scratch with the third generation of their 100% aero bike and proudly present the new Noah Fast. At a speed of 50 kilometers per hour, the Noah Fast is 8.5 watts faster than its predecessor, emphasizing Ridley's DNA of aerodynamic excellence

The Noah Fast represents minimal air resistance, a modern geometry that allows for aggressive positioning, a new aero cockpit and a holistic approach with a focus on ultimate efficiency. It is the official bike of the Uno-X Mobility men's and women's teams.

  • Holistic approach

Ridley has a long tradition in developing aero bikes and was at the forefront of innovations such as the integrated seat post, the first integrated brakes in the frame and fork, and concealed cables—all of which were later adopted by other brands. Since the Noah’s launch in the 2006 Tour de France, this distinctive aero bike has been a guarantee of success. The tone was set with Robbie McEwen's green jersey victory. Years later, André Greipel dominated the sprinters on the Champs-Élysées. Over a decade later, Caleb Ewan became another devoted fan of this racing machine. The Noah evolved into the Noah Fast, with each model setting a new benchmark in the peloton. In 2025, the Noah family welcomes its third generation, which riders from Uno-X Mobility will use at the highest level.

Aerodynamic Developments

The new Noah Fast is fully developed according to the latest UCI regulations regarding tube shapes and profiles. The major difference is the use of the 8:1 rule, allowing tubes to be up to eight times longer than their width, as opposed to the previous 3:1 ratio. Ridley’s in-house wind tunnel at Bike Valley provides a significant advantage in building the most aerodynamic bike. Inspired by the Dean Fast time trial bike, aero engineers pushed UCI regulations to the limit. The result is long, narrow profiles in the fork and seat stays. The oversized downtube is designed specifically to guide airflow around water bottles without creating drag.

Using a trial-and-error approach, aero engineers considered multiple design options for every component. They extended the bike's head tube, maximizing the compensating triangles allowed by UCI rules. These shapes behind the head tube and around the seat tube improve wind guidance. A mix of symmetrical and asymmetrical profiles in the fork and seat stays further optimizes aerodynamics. In crosswinds, the wind flows over a curved, elongated surface, increasing rider stability. These developments result in exceptional aerodynamic efficiency.

Wind tunnel tests show that a rider at 50 kilometers per hour saves 7 watts on the Noah Fast compared to the Falcn RS. Compared to the Noah Fast, the savings increase to 8.5 watts. The data is clear: this is the fastest bike Ridley has ever made.

Progressive Geometry

Compared to traditional racing bikes, one aspect of geometry stands out: the seat angle is much steeper. Years of road cycling sponsorship revealed a trend towards more forward bike fits. Based on this data, engineers determined that a 76-degree seat angle represents the median. A steeper seat angle aligns with the changing preference of riders towards a position with an open hip angle for a better power transfer. This setup complies with the new UCI regulations effective from January 1, 2025. A lowered bottom bracket compensates for the wider tires used in modern cycling. Finally, the lower head tube with integrated cockpit allows the rider to have a more aggressive aero position, resulting in a reduced frontal area.

Cockpit Integration

This cockpit was specifically developed for the new model and was developed together with the frame. The focus was on combining aero performance with comfort. The integration of the cockpit into the toptube reduces the turbulences compared to a traditional setup. The Nimbus Aero cockpit follows the trend towards narrower handlebars, measuring 360mm at the shifter position to help riders adopt an aerodynamic position and reduce frontal surface.

The handlebar shape naturally angles the shifters inward, further enhancing aero positioning. The cockpit meets strict UCI regulations for shifter placement. Ergonomically, a flared drop ensures balanced steering behavior. The aerodynamic top of the handlebar curves slightly towards the rider, creating a natural wrist position when riding on the tops.

The Nimbus Aero cockpit measures 360mm at the shifters and 400mm at the drops, with a drop of 127mm and a reach of 75mm. It is available in five stem lengths and three height options (stem stack), accommodating a wide range of bike fits.

Holistic approach

The new Noah Fast is not merely a lightning-fast bike but a 100% ‘performance package’ that approaches cycling from a 360-degree perspective. Every aspect of the bike is adapted to modern cycling. The cockpit dimensions and frame geometry are tailored to the expectations of professional riders. The tire clearance of 34mm allows the Noah Fast to even be used on rough terrain like Paris-Roubaix. The aero engineers carried out all simulations with the bike as a whole. That means: including wheels, water bottles, bike computer, and all other essentials. They did these tests under different wind angles to simulate the performance in the real world. After all, this is how riders actually use the Noah Fast.

Aero is Everything

Ridley's focus on aerodynamics is a deliberate choice, as tests show that aerodynamic drag plays an exponentially larger role at higher speeds. On mountainous terrain, the lightweight Falcn RS remains the perfect weapon of choice, becoming more advantageous on gradients steeper than 7% at lower speeds. In other scenarios, aero reigns supreme. Given the speeds in the professional peloton, the choice of aero is a logical one.

Stiffness

Zedler tests have shown that the Noah Fast is 10% stiffer in the headtube than the Falcn RS. Similar values apply to the bottom bracket. The Noah Fast is engineered to convert every watt of power into speed. It not only features the fastest aerodynamic tube shapes but also focuses on achieving the optimal stiffness of the frame. With an increased head tube stiffness compared to the FALCN RS and an already exceptionally stiff bottom bracket area, the Noah Fast ensures that no energy is lost, providing maximum efficiency during acceleration.
