Trance X Advanced Pro 2 29With the new Trance X, GIANT breathes more spring travel into its bestseller and thus accurately places it in the all-mountain category. A 150 mm fork and 141 millimeters of travel at the rear offer the perfect conditions for a strong all-rounder. With its 2392 gram carbon frame and the company's own carbon wheels, which come as standard in the tubeless setup, the Pro 2 has the lowest total weight at 13.4 kilos. Correspondingly light-footed and propulsion-oriented, the GIANT hangs on the gas and cuts a very good figure even on extended tours with long climbing inserts. The rest of the equipment is rather simple at a price of 4299 euros. A Sram-NX gearshift with only 454 percent bandwidth and somewhat powerless, groupless Shimano brakes are below the average of the test field. When it comes to the chassis, the Pro 2 relies on Rockshox suspension elements. The inexpensive Pike Select fork and the Deluxe Select + damper worked the most sensitively and actively compared to the other Rockshox chassis. Pleasing: Even when kicked out of the saddle, the rear end only nods slightly and is pleasant to ride even without a platform. All testers also praised the straightforward handling and the slightly sporty seating position. Despite the long, modern reach, the Trance X strikes a good compromise between smoothness and playfulness and also goes well on the rear wheel. Sit on it and feel good in all situations. In the practical evaluation, the GIANT therefore diligently collected points and is one of the absolute favorites in this comparison behind the much more expensive Scott. |
