The biggest factor in road bike comfort are the tires; they provide more compliance than any other part of the bike. Wider tires are better at reducing shocks from cracks, curbs, cobbles and potholes, which is why they are the norm at Paris- Roubaix. Wider tires also have lower rolling resistance, because their shorter contact patch requires less bending by the casing. In addition, wider tires offer an advantage on long and multi-day rides, reducing the steady drain on a rider’s energy level caused by high-frequency road buzz. But aerodynamics are also important on such rides, and wide tires tend to test poorly in the windtunnel. Family feeling of the Wilier 0 SLR

Wilier 0 SL takes advantage of the SLR version, the bike used by the professional riders of Astana Pro Team and Total Direct Energie. The design is identical to the Wilier 0 SLR but with its own graphics. Moreover, Wilier 0 SL copies the steering qualities (and therefore geometries) of the SLR version.

 

Seamless cable integration with easy assembly and maintenance

All cables (electronic and mechanical) run inside the frame. With the new Stemma SL stem, the bike can be assembled or maintained without having to remove the handlebar.

EASY-FIT SPACERS

The spacers between the frame headset and the handlebar are made of a high-stiffness composite material, with a special cavity for the cables. They are composed of two parts for quick assembly and disassembly without interfering with the cables running from the handlebar to the frame.

ASYMMETRY BECOMES THE SOLUTION

The transmission of power to the rear wheel must not be subjected to dispersions that cause a loss of pedalling efficiency. To meet this demand, we created an asymmetrical rear triangle with the seat stay at a slightly sharper angle than the right. This prevents lateral oscillation due to the force exerted by the cyclist on the chain, thereby turning asymmetry into a solution.

BALANCE DESIGN

Six sizes, one feeling. The sections of the tubes of various sizes were designed to maintain consistent rigidity, handling quality and comfort on every frame size. Specifically, during the design phase we created a different section for the main tubes for each size of bicycle in order to increase the frame's torsional stiffness and stability.

SEATPOST AND CLAMP

Wilier 0 SL comes with a new type of carbon monocoque seatpost specially designed for this bike. Its slender shape resembles the truncated dovetail profiles of our aerodynamic Cento10PRO and Cento10NDR models. It's available in two geometries, one with a 0 mm setback and the other with a 15 mm setback, both of which are compatible with the Ritchey 1-Bolt seatpost clamp. The seatpost is attached to the frame with an expander positioned inside the horizontal tube for ultimate aesthetics and aerodynamics.

THE LIGHTEST E-ROAD BIKE ON THE MARKET

One of the most important aspects for us was to achieve a record weight: we have succeeded in creating a racing bike with pedal assistance that weighs less than 12 kg. A lightweight monocoque carbon frame, high-quality mechanical components and an Ebikemotion servo-assistance system, with a total weight (motor, battery and controls) of 3.7 KG, the lightest solution on the market.

GET THAT RACING FEELING WITH A TRUE RACING BIKE

When designing the Cento1 Hybrid, we focused on those individuals who are discovering the world of racing bikes for the first time, as well as the thousands of passionate cyclists who already use racing bikes, but who struggle to keep up with their friends, or who can no longer conquer their favourite climb.

The Cento1 Hybrid is composed of a monocoque carbon frame and fork, built using the same composite materials and with the same technologies that we usually employ on our high-end competition bicycles. The shape and geometry of the Cento1 Hybrid frame derives from the NDR family of racing-endurance bikes, which offer less tiring riding positions without relinquishing their racing spirit.

The Cento1 Hybrid is fitted with traditional-type components, such as hydraulic disc brakes, 11-speed Shimano groupset and high-profile aluminium wheels. The only component that differs from the standard equipment provided is the rear hub, which contains the drive unit that provides pedal assistance. The energy required by the motor is deliveredby the battery, which is neatly integrated into the down tube of the frame. The system is controlled (on, off and monitoring) via a button which is integrated into the top tube, enabling the rider to choose from the various assistance modes offered by the Cento1 Hybrid.

INTELLIGENCE ON BOARD

The intelligent solutions installed on the Cento1 Hybrid enable the limits of the person riding the bike to be understood and overcome, assisting the cyclist at just the right moment.

There are several options for using and managing the entire system. The simplest of these options is just to use the controller integrated into the top tube, which enables you to turn the system on and off and to select the desired level of assistance, by pressing the backlit button.

Riders looking for greater interaction with the system can download the dedicated EBIKEMOTION app from the AppStore or the PlayStore, which provides access to the system command centre. This app opens the door to a whole range of functions, from the simplest (classic cycle computer functions such as display speed, distance, remaining charge level, incline etc.) to the most complex (navigation management and programming of the various outputs, recording data, setting weather forecast alerts, etc.)

The intelligence of the Cento1 Hybrid doesn't stop there: the system can also help when you want to monitor other parameters - your heart rate, for example. When paired with a heart rate monitor belt, the maximum heart rate can be set. If your heart rate reaches the predetermined threshold during activity, the system will engage the motor, enabling your heart rate to return to within the threshold set without having to stop pedalling.

The Cento10NDR will let you spend long hours in the saddle, thanks to its specially designed endurance geometry and the ACTIFLEX system – Wilier’s new approach to absorbing rear vibrations generated by bumps in the road surface.
 

IN PURSUIT OF RACING COMFORT

The road bike market is evolving. New users are coming to the world of high-performance bikes with a variety of goals other than purely racing. They want more relaxed geometry, the option to fit wider tires and disc brakes, and the ability to cycle long distances without discomfort. Essentially, they want the perfect blend of responsiveness, performance, light-weight, ride quality and comfort. With the Cento10NDR we have brought together all these aspects that until now belonged to completely different visions and experiences of cycling. Developing the ACTIFLEX project since 2014, we have woven our traditional racing DNA into the endurance world.

ACTIFLEX

ACTIFLEX is the heart of the Cento10NDR frame, providing an all-new connection between the seat post and seat stays. Using a carefully designed aluminium link and technopolymer dissipater, we can give the rear wheel a few millimeters of travel. The torsional stiffness of the aluminium link remains comparable to traditional monocoque carbon seatstays, despite the various connections involved. This stiffness gives the frame racing performance but at the same time allows the rear wheel to move up and down over bumps caused by imperfections in the road surface. Connected to the link there is a dissipater that stabilises the kinematic movement of the rear triangle. This special technopolymer has amazing mechanical properties, high atmospheric resistance and can function in temperatures from -40°C to +150°C. The dissipater will be made in three different colours for the different levels of density, meaning that ACTIFLEX can be set up perfectly according to the weight of the rider and/or the type of terrain they typically encounter on their bike.

TOTAL INTEGRATION

The sophisticated design of the steerer tube combined with the special form of the headtube allows us to thread up to three cables inside the frame. The three cables enter the steerer tube through the Alabarda or Stemma & Barra, routing the gear and brake cables from the levers at exactly the right angle in the steering tube. So, if you’re using electronic gears and disc braking, the bike will not have any exposed cables, giving the Cento10NDR a beautifully clean look.

AERODYNAMIC

Cento10NDR is a race-ready frame derived from the Cento10AIR, our high-end light, aerodynamic bike. As in the Cento10AIR, Wilier’s new creation has been developed according to Naca-Low-Speed rules – aeronautical algorithms that allow us to design the frame tubes with the highest possible aerodynamic efficiency. Alongside the NACA algorithms, Wilier uses another important concept in aerodynamics: the Kamm theory. Indeed, all profiles are designed with a K-tail, reducing weight and increasing stiffness without negatively affecting the aerodynamic efficiency of the tube itself

MAXIMUM VERSATILITY WITH THE DUAL BRAKES TECHNOLOGY

Cento10NDR is the first road bike whose frame and fork can be fitted with two different types of brakes: disc brakes with thru-axles and 160 mm rotors or traditional direct-mount calliper brakes with quick releases. This solution expands the available configurations of the Cento10NDR, meaning the frame is always ready for an upgraded braking system. The fork and rear triangle have been designed to accommodate a wide range of tires: up to 28 mm with the direct-mount setup or up to 30 mm if using disc brakes.

BALANCED DESIGN

Balanced design means the ride feels the same on all Cento10NDR frame sizes. The tube sections in the various sizes are different, to make sure that stiffness, comfort and ride quality are the same on each frame size produced

GEOMETRY

Frame geometry is key when it comes to endurance bikes. To offer Cento10NDR riders the maximum level of racing comfort, the proportions between the frame tubes needed to be rethought. The final result is a position that is slightly shorter and taller than in traditional racing geometries, thanks to a shorter reach and a greater stack. This reach and stack combination gives a more comfortable position without using any spacers between the stem and the frame. How often do we see cyclists with pure racing bikes and several centimetres of spacers on the steerer tube? Now with the Cento10NDR the overall look of the bike will be harmonious, proportionate, balanced and at the same time race-ready. The Reach & Stack graphic shows the correct position of the six sizes of Cento10NDR (light blue line) compared to other Wilier Triestina frames developed in recent years.

WILIER Filante SLR

The natural evolution of Cento10PRO, our high-end aerodynamic bike used by professionals.

Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aerodynamic bicycle with a significantly improved stiffness to weight ratio. We used the same materials and technology as in the construction of the Wilier 0 SLR.

The result is a top of the range, aerodynamic frame that complements our pure ascent bike used by Astana Pro Team and Total Direct Energie.

Aerodynamic

Filante SLR was designed to maximise aerodynamic performance in real environmental conditions. The design was based on data recorded in the wind tunnel (where the wind is very clean for homogeneous empirical results) while also taking the real world into account. In this way, we not only evaluate typical wind tunnel data (yaw angles from -20° to + 20°), but also consider environmental turbulence that impacts the bike for many different reasons.
That’s why we redesigned the profiles, starting with the standard NACA airfoils/ KAMM tail that no longer have sharp edges on the back. The softened angles improve performance even when the air flow is disturbed.
The inside of the front fork has been widened by 7 mm, making it 13.6% wider than the Cento10PRO. In doing so, we moved the fork blades away from the wheel, reducing turbulence and improving aerodynamics.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND RESPONSIVE

The new aerodynamically optimised profiles helped us eliminate extra weight in the frame’s construction. The shape has no sharp edges, therefore requires less material and less resin in the corners. This improves homogeneity of the inside, reducing the frame’s weight to a mere 870 grams.
The assembled bike with top-of-the-range specifications weighs 6.8 kg.
The Filante monocoque handlebar is made of the same carbon we use for the Wilier 0 SLR. Thanks to the different types of carbon we used in combination with the Liquid-Crystal Polymer, the unique fibre positioning and the construction technology, we have reached an absolute level of lightness and stiffness.
The lower overall weight compared to the exceptional stiffness increases STW by 12.5%. This improvement is clearly felt with the steering precision and the feeling of safety at high speeds.

240 FITTINGS AVAILABLE

Since the fork steerer tube is no longer bevelled, we can install up to 35 mm of spacers under the handlebar. By combining frame sizes, handlebar sizes and spacers, we can achieve 240 different fittings, with no overlap between combinations. This doubles with the two available seat posts, with 15 mm or 0 mm setback.

HANDLEBAR AND INTEGRATED CABLES

In addition to being lightweight, (350 grams for the 101x42 size) the new integrated carbon monocoque Filante Bar handlebar houses the brake and derailleur cables, directing them toward the inside of the frame. Its design is very simple, with sinuous and rounded lines for maximum grip ergonomics.

EASY-FIT SPACERS

The spacers between the frame headset and the handlebar are made of a high-stiffness composite material, with a special cavity for the cables. They are composed of two parts for quick assembly and disassembly without interfering with the cables running from the handlebar to the frame.

BALANCED DESIGN

Six sizes, one feeling. The sections of the tubes of various sizes were designed to maintain consistent rigidity, handling quality and comfort on every frame size.
